Privacy Policy

BLIP is anonymous random voice chat. The short version: there are no accounts, we don't record your calls, and there is no camera anywhere in the product. Below is the longer version, in plain English.

This page is maintained by the BLIP team and describes how BLIP actually works today. It is plain-language documentation, not a certification or independent audit. Questions? hello@bliptalk.live

The short version

  • No sign-up, no email, no username and no profile is required to use BLIP.
  • Voice calls are not recorded or stored by BLIP.
  • There is no video and no camera access — voice and text only.
  • We use privacy-standard website analytics to understand traffic, not to identify you.

What we collect

We keep collection deliberately minimal. Today that means:

  • Analytics data: we use Google Analytics 4 to measure page views, approximate location at country/city level, device type and referral source. This is aggregate traffic measurement, not a profile of you.
  • Connection data: to place a call, our voice provider needs your IP address and basic network information so audio can be routed between you and the other person. This is standard for any internet call.
  • On-device settings: your one-time 18+ acknowledgement is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. We cannot read it, and clearing your browser data removes it.
  • Anything you say or type: this travels between you and the other person. We do not record calls or archive text rooms.

What we do not collect

  • No account, real name, phone number or email address.
  • No camera or video, ever.
  • No stored recordings or transcripts of your conversations.
  • No selling of personal data to third parties.

Reports and moderation

When you report someone, we need enough information to act on it. A report may capture the session identifier, the time, the reason you selected and a short window of context needed to review the incident. Reports are used for safety enforcement only, and we keep them no longer than needed to handle the report and any repeat behaviour from the same session.

Reporting also takes immediate effect for you: the other person is muted, you are moved on, and you will not be matched with that identity again in your session.

Services we rely on

BLIP is built on a small number of third-party providers, each of which processes limited data on our behalf:

  • LiveKit — real-time voice infrastructure. Handles the live audio connection between you and the person you are matched with.
  • Google Analytics 4 — website traffic measurement.
  • Lovable — hosting and application platform for the website itself.

Each provider handles data under its own privacy terms. We do not share your information with advertisers.

Cookies and analytics

BLIP does not use advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets its own first-party measurement identifiers so repeat visits are not double-counted. You can block these with any standard browser setting, tracker blocker or by enabling "Do Not Track" — BLIP works fine either way.

Retention and deletion

Because there are no accounts, there is no stored profile to delete. Conversations are not retained after they end. Analytics data is retained on Google's standard schedule for our property, and safety reports are kept only as long as needed to act on them.

If you believe we hold information relating to you and you want it removed, email hello@bliptalk.live and we will respond.

Age requirement

BLIP is for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using BLIP, report the session or contact us and we will act on it.

Your responsibilities

Anonymity only works if you protect it. Do not share your full name, address, workplace, financial details or social handles with a stranger on a call. We cannot control what another person does with information you choose to give them.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. This version is current as of 28 July 2026. For privacy questions, security reports or deletion requests, contact hello@bliptalk.live.
